I’m back in Rome. It’s a much colder time and I’m somehow less scared of the foreign language and foreign culture. It’s now purely a beautiful place, one where I can learn and just be. The weather is a damper. But I will not let my spirits be dampened. Onward to the delights of ancient Rome tomorrow.

Ironically, I just did a presentation on the “history of knowledge” which was largely about the ancient brainiacs of Greece and Rome. Did you know they invented the concept of “Peer review” for academic writings and papers?
