Nutella Cheesecake Brownie

Here are the ingredients used.
Ingredients for brownie layer:
10 tbsp butter (140g ish) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
5 Tablespoons of Nutella
2 large eggs
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup natural cocoa powder

Ingredients for cheesecake layer:
225g cream cheese, softened at room temp (Philadelphia works perfectly).
3 tbsp granulated sugar
2 large eggs
5 tbsp Nutella

For a potluck today among my friends celebrating Christmas, I baked a cake, thanks to the AMAZING recipe provided by the ever reliable Chocolate & Zucchini food-blog! This cake was the Melt-in-your-mouth Chocolate Cake which not only sounded amazing but Looked absolutely tantalising in the pictures on the website. (N.B. The pictures here are taken from my SECOND time baking this on the next day, with the exact same ingredients)

I decided to jazz it up a little by adding bananas, turning down the earthy richness of the chocolate and giving it a more delicate air. Absolutely brilliant decision I have to say. Generally speaking, I am quite critical of my cooking, and don’t usually self-praise. But this cake was really really tasty. Strangely light and yet not too sweet despite the amount of sugar and chocolate. I had used cheaper Nestle dark chocolate which I cannot recommend with my heart of hearts. It tasted good but I KNOW that using Lindt or even a high cocoa content generic would be a much better choice. (more…)
