Invictus: Inspiring

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

This poem inspires me, it inspires me to want to be a better person, to live up to all the expectations that have been placed on my shoulders and to assume all the responsibilities are mine and mine alone to bear.

Time after Time – Cyndi Lauper

Lying in my bed I hear the clock tick
And think of you
Caught up in circles
Confusion Is nothing new
Flashback warm nights
Almost left behind
Suitcase of memories
Time after
Sometimes you picture me
I’m walking too far ahead
You’re calling to me, I can’t hear
What you’ve said
Then you say go slow
I fall behind
The second hand unwinds
Chorus:
If you’re lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you I’ll be waiting
Time after time
If you’re lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you I’ll be waiting
Time after time
After my picture fades and darkness has
Turned to gray
Watching through windows
you’re wondering If I’m OK
Secrets stolen from deep inside
The drum beats out of time
Chorus
You said go slow
I fall behind
The second hand unwinds
Chorus
Time after time (x10)
